Happy Tuesday Hilltopper Fans, yesterday was an eventful day in WKU Sports news. With that in mind, we thought we’d update you on the WKU related content on the internet. Here’s what you may have missed yesterday:
Today’s regular-season finale against Charlotte was canceled yesterday due to Covid-19 roster limitations by the 49ers.
No word from WKU on what’s next, whether the regular season is officially over, they’ll look to reschedule/replace the finale, or if they’re waiting on a rumored bowl bid that may or may not come with the team’s current 4–6 record. Let’s hope the weird season doesn’t end with this news and we get some closure with this strange 2020 season.
Redshirt junior quarterback Davis Shanley has entered the transfer portal. Not a huge surprise since he couldn’t crack the lineup for most of the past two seasons since Helton took over. Best of luck to Shanley at his next destination
If the season is indeed over, we’ll have to wave goodbye to a trio of redshirt senior offensive lineman, Tyler Witt, Seth Joest & Jordan Meredith. Jared MacDonald of the Bowling Green Daily News wrote about their bond heading into their last game.

WKU Basketball continues their season looking for another signature win as they face Louisville (2–0) in the KFC Yum Center at 5 PM CT. The game is on the ACC Network.

Freshman forward Ally Collett won CUSA Freshman of the Week honors for the Lady Toppers after her 16 point performance against Tennessee.
College Gameday is going to Coastal Carolina as they host Liberty on Saturday, proving that ESPN will go to a G5 school if the matchup is good enough. Congrats to the Chanticleers, hopefully, the stars align one day for the Hilltoppers to host.
And finally, Southern Miss might be on the verge of bringing former Arkansas & Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema to Conference USA
