— The highlight of the week happened on Wednesday, when ESPN’s Jeff Goodman broke that WKU is the favorite to land Kansas transfer Dwight Coleby. That, in and of its self, is news, but Goodman continued to use his platform to accuse Rick Stansbury of shady recruiting practices:
Fans naturally got frustrated and offended with Goodman’s tweets. He later hid behind the anonymity of a Power 5 coach, saying those comments were straight from them and not his own opinions.
This shtick has grown tiresome and perpetuates the perception that Stansbury is a cheater and WKU’s recruiting success is illegitimate. The fact that someone as high profile as Jeff Goodman is consistently feeding the fire is even more frustrating. Luckily our fans and some media came up with creative responses to his comments:

— Athlon Sports released their 2017 All Conference USA team. Brandon Ray, Joe Brown, Kylen Towner & Nacarius Fant all landed on their 1st team. Athlon picked MTSU QB Brent Stockstill ahead of Mike White on the 1st team despite finishing behind him in 2016. We’ll see if he can move them past their usual 8–5 record.
— Offensive Lineman Dennis Edwards was named to the Rimington Award watch list.

— WKU’s November 11th trip to Marshall is scheduled to kickoff at 5:30 PM CST. Depending on weather, Huntington isn’t a bad place to road trip to, their campus is solid and its right down the road from a decent downtown area:
