— Brad Stephens discusses upcoming enhancements to Diddle Arena and the Houch that are sorely needed. He also gives an update on the Indoor Practice Facility.
— Underdog Dynasty ranks WKU as having the third-best Defensive Line in the conference and says the Tops are in great shape for the upcoming season.
— WKU’s September 9th game at Illinois will kick off at 7 p.m. on the Big Ten Network. I will be there tailgating all day to see if the Tops can get their first Big Ten win.
— UTEP announced their game with WKU will also be played at 7 p.m. on October 7th. No TV yet for that one.
— Speaking of TV, Conference USA announced WKU will appear on national TV five more times this year, and a date of a game is moved because of it.
— Gary Ransdell was given a Yeti cooler as a retirement gift after years of supporting WKU public broadcasting
— The Seattle Times discusses George Fant’s transformation from undrafted rookie to the front-runner at starting left tackle for the Seahawks.
— The Orlando Sentinel lists Mike White as a player in C-USA that could make an impact in 2017. (Well no duh.)
— Jeff Goodman mentions WKU as a potential transfer destination for former UofL & St. Johns guard Jay Henderson
— A big reason WKU lost Brohm was the salaries that Purdue could offer him and his assistants. The Courier-Journal gives a run-down.
— WKU Track and Field is the last team on the Hill still competing this year. This week, one relay team and three individuals are heading to Oregon to compete at the National Championships.
— Louisiana-Monroe looks like the primary competition for grad-transfer Dwight Coleby.
— Bill Connelly from SB Nation gives a 15-year rundown of how College Football would work if it had a European style promotion/relegation system. WKU is mentioned several times and would currently be in the SEC if this system was in place.
— Chad and Dominique from WBKO did their weekly podcast early and gave their predictions for WKU’s football season along with the other two teams in the state.
— A Reddit user did a scientific simulation of the 2016 season based on Record, Head to head and points scored and somehow came up with WKU as the National Champions.
— The Kentucky Kings, a predominantly WKU Alumni basketball team, did make the Basketball tournament, a $2 million winner-take-all tournament that starts in late June.
— College Football Reddit also had fun mocking the AAC’s branding of their helmets with a P6 sticker (denoting they’re on the same level as Power 5). Here’s what they came up with if C-USA did the same thing:
