Another eventful weekend came and went, Here’s the rundown of everything that happened in Hilltopper Nation to start off your work week.
— The future in-state freshman duo of Jake Ohmer & Taveion Hollingsworth helped the State of Kentucky All-Stars snap their long losing streak to Indiana in thrilling fashion. Ohmer had 30 points, 3 rebounds & 2 assists while Hollingsworth chipped in 8 points, 5 helpers & 2 boards in Kentucky’s 111–110 double OT victory. It was Kentucky’s first victory since 2008 in what used to be one of the premier cross state rivalries but has since waned in importance. It will be interesting to how much each player contributes on the crowded roster this upcoming season.
Jake Ohmer discussed with Spectrum Sports his wild ride since becoming a Kentucky Sweet Sixteen legend and his excitement of going to WKU with future roommate Taveion Hollingsworth.
— Chuck Landon from the Hearld Dispatch (WV), explores WKU’s domination of C-USA & Marshall in most sports since joining the league 3 years ago.
— WKU football has added former East Tennessee State receiver Dalton Ponchillia as a transfer. He was productive in his two seasons at ETSU.

— Athlon Sports posted their entire Conference USA preview online. They predicted WKU repeating as C-USA East Division Champions, but losing to Louisiana Tech in the Championship game.

— Coach Sanford and his staff continue to build roots with WKU’s past despite only being on job for less than a year:
— WKU’s track season came to an end at the National Championships in Eugene, Oregon. They had two individuals finish in the top 23 in their respective events while the 4x400 relay team finish 20th. All earned honorable mention All-American honors.

— Underdog Dynasty said that Big Red would be on the offensive line if you assigned C-USA mascots to positions on the field.
— They also broke down Vegas’s predicted win totals for the East Division of C-USA and all of their staff thinks WKU will come short of 9 ½ over/under.
