Here is what the coaches and players had to say about it.

WKU Press Conference-Steve Lutz, Don McHenry, Brandon Newman
WKU Head Coach Steve Lutz opens up encouraging WKU fans to come down to Huntsville. He talks about how nice it is to win in the fashion they did and that he’s proud of his team.
A little tidbit about how they handled the short turnaround: Apparently all they did was watch film after the NMSU game, woke up, watched film, and headed to the stadium.
Dontaie Allen:
Went to the hospital and got his knee checked out. We heard all kinds of stuff during the game, but Lutz confirmed it’s a knee. Reasonable inference probably suggests Dontaie doesn’t play in the championship, but we have no official news besides that they looked at his knee and immediately decided he wasn’t playing again against Middle and sent him to the hospital.
Lutz knows his WKU history, rattling off the last championship appearance and last NCAA appearance.
On UTEP, the main thing that stands out to them is they turn the ball over. They split with them, so they view it as another three game series that they need to win.
Hilltopper Nation: “What the hell else have you got to do?”
In response to Matt’s question about giving Topper fans on the fence a reason to decide to come down, he basically shot back, “If not now, when?” He lists off several great reasons and really just boils it down to the fact that if WKU fans love their team, show up! “This doesn’t happen every day.”
