Behind every great offense on the gridiron is a great offensive line. And, for the past few years, that line has begun and ended with Forrest Lamp.
Lamp has been named to two preseason award watch lists this offseason and is a very, very high draft prospect for 2017.
247sports.com has released its top preseason college players, 247 of them (go figure), and of all of the players in the country, Lamp comes in at #29, and is one of just 32 five-star players.
As WKU football’s official twitter account noted, that’s some pretty esteemed company.
That’s right. Of all the G5 players in all the land, Lamp lands atop them all.
Taywan Taylor is the next Topper on the list, coming in at #125 (still though, four stars and a 94 ranking) and Leon Allen makes the cut at #209 (four stars and a 91 ranking).
For what its worth, there are two MTSU players on the list (Richie James and Brent Stockstill) and 0 Thundering Herders to make the cut.
Its interesting to me to see Allen make the list and not Ferby or Wales, but Taylor and Lamp are certainly no-brainers.
Where would you have ranked the trio of Tops? Would you have omitted one for another? (I.e. Wales for Allen) Let us know in a comment below or on twitter @TheTowelRackWKU.
