Happy Thanksgiving From The Towel Rack
From everyone at The Towel Rack, we’d like to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.
From everyone at The Towel Rack, we’d like to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.
Despite the year on the gridiron, WKU fans still have a lot to be thankful for — from the recent run of success (that is slowing down, sure, but is still fun to look back on) from the athletics department as a whole to the success on the hardwood in this renaissance of the men’s basketball team and everything in between.
There’s also a lot for me to be thankful for personally. I’m getting to see my family today for the first time in about five months, which I’m incredibly excited about. My job has been going well and I still can’t believe I get to do what I do for a living. Overall, life is good.
I’m also thankful for everyone on the TTR writing staff. With how busy I’ve been covering Florida State for the day job, it’s actually been everyone else who has covered things like live tweeting and the recaps.
I’m thankful for Jared for being my impromptu second in command when I’m too busy covering the Noles.
I’m thankful for Ross for a bounty of things — he keeps us honest and always has a fresh perspective on how we should go about covering topics. He’s able to remove himself from the site in the best possible way. He has a truly “fan” perspective that is invaluable and would be sorely missed if he weren’t around.
I’m thankful for Matt for being our numbers guy. He sees and understands the Hilltoppers in ways I wish I did. If ever we need a deep dive, he’s the man we turn to and he hammers it every time.
I’m thankful for Sam for being the outlier point of view. It’s no fun if everyone agrees all the time and while you may not like his point of view on things, he makes his argument concisely and convincingly.
I’m thankful for Devin and Jacob, who joined us recently. I’m thankful they were willing to take a leap of faith in joining our team after establishing their own team over at the RedOUT podcast and it’s been a beautiful marriage. Devin has a true “insiders,” perspective and Jacob is maybe the funniest writer we have on staff.
I’m thankful that each of them took faith in me and my vision and I’m thankful that they’re willing to have a dialogue when they think something should be done differently. Also, our writers chat is a blast and I’m glad they’ve never told me to shove it.
I’m thankful for you, reading this right now. In the last year, hell even half year, we’ve seen a tremendous growth of the site. Not only are more people reading, but more people are reading “smaller,” articles. Stories that used to be viewed 10 times are now viewed 30, 40, 50 times. In the last two months, we saw our most ever read story and just about every story we have published has nearly over half of what it would be this time last year.
I hope your day is full of fun, food and football (I know mine will be) and I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
