It was not a good night last night for the New York Giants, who helped bring Week 4 of the NFL season to an end with a 24–10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings (sorry, Marcus).
It was, however, a solid night for former WKU running back Bobby Rainey, who is trying to make the most of his elevated playing time with the injury to Shane Vereen.
The stats looked like this — Rainey logged 22 rushing yards on four carries, including busting through for a 9-yard pick up and picking up a first down for the Giants as they were driving to make it a one-score game (spoiler alert — they did not succeed).
Rainey was even better as a receiving option, collecing 43 yards on seven receptions. And, while he didn’t find the end zone, he did get a bit of love from the MNF broadcasting crew of Sean McDonough and former NFL head coach Jon Gruden.
So, even though it wasn’t a good night for the Giants (and seriously, they looked putrid on offense, good Vikings defense or not), it was a good night all things considered for Bobby.
