#ProTops: CBS Sports Says Courtney Lee is Part of Worst Starting Five in NBA
It hasn’t been a stellar week, we’ll say, for former Hilltopper Courtney Lee.
It hasn’t been a stellar week, we’ll say, for former Hilltopper Courtney Lee.
Not only has he been shopped around all summer by the New York Knicks in a cap-saving move, but rumors recently circulated that he wants to leave NY. (Or, the simpler answer is that if he leaves NY, he wants to go to a winner. But that narrative isn’t as fun.)
And, yesterday, CBS did a ranking of NBA starting fives and, as luck would have it, CLee is apart of the worst in the Association.
Ranking every NBA starting lineup for opening night: Warriors lead way; how do LeBron James' Lakers…
Well folks, we're less than a month from real, actual, regular-season NBA basketball games. Hard to believe, right…www.cbssports.com
Colin Ward-Henninger says of all the starting fives in the league, the lineup of Lee, Trey Burke, Tim Hardaway Jr., Lance Thomas and Enes Kanter is the worst.
I hate to agree, but it’s hard to argue.
His explanation is pretty simple — without Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks aren’t very competitive.
If there is a silver lining to Lee being in this grouping, it’s that he wasn’t mentioned in CWH’s write up as to a reason he, specifically, isn’t good. So…yay?
Anyway, our deepest sympathies to CLee for this distinguished dishonor. Now go out there and make him eat his words.
