#ProTops: Counting Snaps From Week 10 of the NFL Season
Oh, hey there! Welcome into our…what was supposed to be…weekly update with how often our former Hilltoppers are playing.
Oh, hey there! Welcome into our…what was supposed to be…weekly update with how often our former Hilltoppers are playing.
Except…well, to be frank, life happened. It started as “I’m busy this week, I’ll get to it next week.”
Then next week became like three week.
R E G A R D L E S S
We’re back! Let’s check in.
Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts
Since the last time we checked on the snap counts, Doyle was missing action due to a hip injury. But, he has returned and saw your typical TE1 type of numbers (seeing snap percentages of 73.1% and 87.5%, respectively) and caught a touchdown in his return game against Oakland.
He, however, was not in action this weekend as the Colts were on a bye.
Joel Iyiegbuniwe, Chicago Bears
Two weeks ago, Iggy saw eight defensive snaps in a 41–9 drumming of Buffalo, including making three tackles, but did not see the field in any capacity this past week.
Taywan Taylor, Tennessee Titans
After being a mainstay in the Titans receiving corps (despite disappointing numbers to show for it), Taywan has been out of action for the last two weeks after injuring his foot against Dallas. He was inactive this week against New England.
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams
Higbee saw 50 snaps (76.9%) in the Rams’ 36–31 win over the Seahawks, logging three catches for 25 yards and a touchdown (his second of the year).
Forrest Lamp, Los Angeles Chargers
Lamp has seen action just once this year, seeing seven snaps in Week 6 against Cleveland, and if this Q&A with Bolts From The Blue is any indication, it’s the Chargers’ coaching staff playing hardball with his injury recovery.
Mike White, Dallas Cowboys
White has yet to see the field this year as backup. Cooper Rush has taken the only six snaps that Dak Prescott hasn’t.
George Fant, Seattle Seahawks
Fant saw 20 snaps on offense and five on special teams this week against Higbee and the Rams. After seeing just six offensive snaps through the first four weeks of the year, he’s seen snap counts of 12, 18, 24, 20 and 20.
Deon Yelder, Kansas City Chiefs
This is the first ProTops update we’ve done since Yelder has signed with the Chiefs! (Again, sorry about that).
Anyway, he’s seeing the field…a bit. He logged one special teams snap his first week, five his second week and saw one snap on offense this past week against Arizona (he has yet to garner a catch, or even a target, though. It’ll come).
