Former WKU basketball players Courtney Lee and Jeremy Evans both began tenures with new teams last night as the NBA preseason gets underway.
Courtney Lee
Lee suited up for the Orange and Blue of the New York Knicks for the first time last night (on ESPN, too!) and was among the starters for the Knicks (alongside names like Derek Rose, Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis) and logged 23 minutes and notched eight points (2-for-4 from the floor, all attempts were threes and 2-for-2 from the free throw line) to accompany a pair of rebounds in a 130–103 loss to the Houston Rockets.
I’m not sure how long/often Lee was matched up with James Harden (I know he was on him to begin the game, but didn’t watch past the first quarter), but this photo is, well, not good.
Better days are *hopefully* ahead for CLee as he becomes more comfortable with his new club, and hopefully he can become a nice role player to those three stars he’s playing with.
Jeremy Evans
I have to admit, I kind of lied to you. Evans, who was supposed to play as an Indiana Pacer for the first time, did not. I’ll let the Pacers PR tell ya more.
Here’s to a speedy recovery for Evans. And, the Pacers won 113–96 against the New Orleans Pelicans, in case you wanted to know.
