We have had five weeks of action this NFL season and we’ve already had some big moments from former Topper players. There’s already been a couple of surprises including a game in London for this week so will week six have in store?
Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts at New York Jets (Sunday, 12:00 p.m. CBS)
Jack Doyle will once again miss action due to a hip injury making it almost a month since he has played. With him as well as T.Y. Hilton being out, Andrew Luck is running out of reliable targets.
Taywan Taylor, Tennessee Titans vs Baltimore Ravens (Sunday, 3:25 p.m. CBS)
Taywan Taylor had three catches for 30 yards last week at Buffalo. He didn’t get targeted as much and the Titans ended up losing to the Bills (doesn’t sound like a coincidence but that’s just me).
Taylor now has 17 receptions for 169 yards and one touchdown this season.
Forrest Lamp, Los Angeles Chargers at Cleveland Browns (Sunday, 12:00 p.m. CBS)
After missing his entire rookie year due to injury and sitting for five games this year, Lamp will FINALLY be active for the first time in his career this Sunday!
This is an exciting step in the right direction for Lamp but as to how much he may actually play in Cleveland is unknown. Here’s hoping that he sees the field this Sunday.
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams at Denver Broncos (Sunday, 3:05 p.m. FOX)
Higbee and the Rams have been rolling and still remain undefeated as they go to the Mile High City to take on the Broncos.
Last week Higbee had two catches for 26 yards as the Rams held on to beat the Seahawks in overtime. He now has five receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown this season.
Joel Iyiegbuniwe, Chicago Bears at Miami Dolphins (Sunday, 12:00 p.m. FOX)
Iggy and the Bears got a bye last week and now get the chance to play some bruised and battered Dolphins in Miami.
Sadly he hasn’t seen the field much this season but hopefully he’ll get the chance to make some plays soon.
George Fant, Seattle Seahawks vs Oakland Raiders in London (Sunday, 12:00 p.m. FOX)
Fant was drafted as an offensive lineman to the Seahawks a couple of years ago and even started on the O-line last year before his season ended with an injury. But now, after working and waiting to play this year, the Seahawks are bringing him back to his roots.
The Seahawks recently have been giving Fant snaps at tight end, which is the position he played in his sole season of football at WKU. He’ll be more of a blocking tight end but they’ll still have him running routes so that could possibly mean a big fella touchdown in the near future.
Mike White, Dallas Cowboys vs Jacksonville Jaguars (Sunday, 3:25 p.m. CBS)
Mike White still hasn’t had any playing time due to Dak Prescott being at the helm for the Cowboys.
Prescott has struggled more this season than last but I don’t see Jerry Jones wanting to pull the plug on him any time soon so we’ll still have to wait to see White play.
