Yesterday, we told you about the seven former Hilltoppers who were waived or released from their NFL squad’s following the end of training camp and the deadline to create their 53-man rosters.
Well, throughout the day yesterday, four former Toppers found homes with the team that released them, signing to the practice squad:
Tyler Ferguson — Titans
Brandon Doughty — Dolphins
Omarius Bryant — Rams
Darrell Williams, Jr. — 49ers
A reminder that Prince Charles Iworah, while not on the 49ers 53-man squad, is on the team’s injured reserve.
So, for those keeping score at home, that’s three on 53-man rosters, four on the practice squad and one on IR. Eight ProTops in all as we head to the first week of the NFL season.
Unfortunately, Bobby Rainey remains a free agent, and Steve Donatell was unable to find a practice squad home. That’s not to say he won't, he just hasn’t yet.
