The Toronto Argonauts unofficially kick their season off tomorrow against their in-Provence rivals the Hamilton Tigercats, and a familiar face is lining up in a starting position on the defensive side of the ball.

That’s right — that #27, listed at cornerback right under the Argos logo, is the #27 of none other than former Hilltopper Jonathan Dowling, who signed with Toronto in April.

Friday’s game marks the first time Dowling will take the field in the CFL.

I’m not sure how the CFL preseason process differs from the NFL one, so I’m not sure if Dowling starting preseason game one means he’ll be in there Week 1 as well, but if this report from the Toronto Sun is any indication, the Argos have loved Dowling for years, and will look to use him as often as possible.
