WalterFootball.com might just have one of the most complete mock drafts you’ll be able to find. It spans six rounds (which, who knows how different this here article would be if it spanned seven), and even when you’re in the middle of the fifth round, there’s an explanation — however brief — about why that pick makes sense.
That’s the case with Mike White, who WF says will be taken by the Chargers with the 119th overall pick (if my math is correct, that’s the 19th pick in the 4th round).
The entirety of WF’s case can also be seen below.
The Chargers have to find a successor for Philip Rivers, who may not be around much longer.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this refrain.
Yesterday, we took a look at Mel Kiper Jr.’s mock who said the same thing in mocking White going to New Orleans; the old guard is about to change, and White could very well be the man the team needs to bring the new guard in.
Either landing spot (despite my hatred of the Saints) would be good news for White; or, at least, it’d be better news than it was when Brandon Doughty landed in Miami, where they had a QB locked up for the foreseeable future.
