Tryptophan wasn’t the only thing on tap for this past Thanksgiving weekend. It was our #ProTops who were more than thankful for their appearances over Week 12. Let’s see how they did in another week fighting for playoff positioning.
Starting the week on Thursday was a Thanksgiving Day Matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions. As close as this game was, the repeatedly heartbroken Lions remain winless as the Bears ran out with a nail-biting 16-14 victory. Joel Iyiegbuniwe played mostly on special teams, accounting for 18 snaps. He also netted a combined tackle.
Moving on to Sunday, Indianapolis was settling in for a battle. The Colts hosted the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jack Doyle led the team for a second straight week as he tallied 6 receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown catch:
This was his season-best game in 2021. It wasn’t enough as the Buccaneers squeaked out of Indy with a 38-31 win over the AFC South second-place participants. They’re at .500 with a 6-6 record.
The Jets beat the Texans 21-14. Mike White did not play as he was still on the COVID 19 Reserved list.
George Fant played all offensive snaps in the win. His day wasn’t the best as most of the offensive line struggled with Zach Wilson being back under center.
The Rams traveled to Green Bay to face the NFC North-leading Packers. Their defense put a strain on the Rams’ offense as they now have lost their third game in a row. Tyler Higbee only had one catch for three yards in the 36-28 loss.
