The Winter Olympics may have ended earlier this week, but that just means it’s time to make way for the Underwear Olympics, held annually in Indianapolis!
That’s right folks, just when you started to get used to the lack of NFL action, the league’s 2018 year is already here as the NFL Combine gets underway on Friday.
Appearing in this year’s edition of the combine will be a pair of soon-to-be ProToppers in Mike White and Joel Iyiegbuniwe as they try to separate themselves from the rest of the pack and improve their draft stock.
White, along with the rest of the quarterbacks, will take the field on Saturday, while Iggy and the rest of the linebacking corps, will shine on Sunday.
As if there wasn’t already enough buzz around White in that second-tier of quarterbacks in this draft class, NFL.com said White was one of seven prospects whose performance in the Senior Bowl helped improve his draft stock.
For Iggy, there hasn’t been a ton of pub about him, as Eric Galko pointed out in this SI feature, but in the same feature, Galko thinks Iggy is going to shoot up the draft boards (and we really can’t say we disagree with him) and land in a lot of team’s top four round board.
I really wish we’d also be seeing Deon Yelder in Indy as well. I’d be curious as to what the buzz around him would be going in and then what the buzz would be coming out of the weekend. But, alas, we’ll just have to hope teams like what they see during the campus visits.
