#ProTops: Seven Former Toppers Open 2018 on 53-Man Rosters

Saturday, all 32 NFL teams had to make cuts from their camp/preseason roster to their initial 53-man rosters.
Unfortunately, this meant four former Hilltoppers were cut; Deon Yelder (New Orleans), Darrell Williams, Jr. (San Francisco), Omarius Bryant (Rams) and Prince Charles Iworah (Redskins).
However, there are still seven former Toppers who did make the cut for their squad’s 53-man roster! I’m not certain that that’s a record for the program, but it feels like a record for the program.
Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts
The least surprising name you’re going to see. Doyle is TE1 in Indy, and looks to be for the foreseeable future.
Taywan Taylor, Tennessee Titans
Another one of the safest bets you’ll be able to make when it comes to rosters for this season. After having a loud camp, he’ll hope to translate that into a loud sophomore campaign.
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams
Higbee was the, arguably, final foregone conclusion as another elder statesmen of the ProTops universe.
Joel Iyiegbuniwe, Chicago Bears
The Bears didn’t waste their fourth-round pick on Iggy, who cracks the 53-man roster in his inaugural campaign.
Mike White, Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys spent this past year’s fifth-round pick on Mike White, and they’re going to roll three deep on quarterbacks.
Forrest Lamp, Los Angeles Chargers
After missing all of last year after tearing his ACL, he’s right back where he was expected to be — on the Chargers’ roster.
George Fant, Seattle Seahawks
Fant is also working his way back from injury, and is in the midst of battling for the starting right tackle job with German Ifedi.
