The long wait is over, and the 2018 regular season kicksoff TONIGHT! with my Atlanta Falcons, who I’m sure will find a heart breaking way to lose.

Unfortunately, no ProToppers are on the Dirty Birds (I keep waiting for the first), but there are seven former Hilltoppers in action as the league kicks off.

Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts vs. Cincinnati Bengals (Sunday, 12 p.m. CBS)

Doyle will open his 2018 regular season against the same team he closed the 2018 preseason against.

Joel Iyiegbuniwe, Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers (Sunday, 7:20 p.m. NBC)

Iggy make his NFL debut on *looks at schedule* oh yeah national television in one of the league’s fiercest rivalries.

No biggie.

Taywan Taylor, Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins (Sunday, 12 p.m. FOX)

Was training camp and the flashes of brilliance in the preseason what the season has in store for Taywan? Lets hope.

Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams at Oakland Raiders (Monday, 9:20 p.m. ESPN)

Higbee will be the second ProTopper to be showcased on the national stage. I’ll have a hard time staying up for this one in the eastern time zone, though.

Mike White, Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers (Sunday, 3:25 p.m. FOX)

How much will White play this week? This month? This year?!

Who knows.

Forrest Lamp, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Sunday, 3:05 p.m. CBS)

Lamp is one of three guys this weekend suiting up for his first regular season game. Lets see if he’s as good as we were hearing last year before his injury.

George Fant, Seattle Seahawks at Denver Broncos (Sunday, 3:25 p.m. FOX)

How healthy will Fant look as he returns form his injury? He’s listed, unofficially, as the #2 left and right tackle.
