As we get closer and closer to the end of the NFL regular season, the weeks are going to be crazier. This is where playoff contention matters the most in the closing weeks. So far, it has been a November to remember. Here is how our beloved former Hilltoppers performed this past week.
Jack Doyle STILL keeps finding a way to make scores for the Colts. He picked up 3 receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown in the Colts 16–12 loss to the Dolphins. The score accounted for a single yard in the red zone. Here’s the catch & the “Capt. Jack Spike” celebration below from Brian Hoyer:
Deon Yelder had one catch for seven yards in the Chiefs 35–32 thrilling loss to the Titans. It was his first appearance since September 29th against the Lions. I would like to see him split more time with number one tight end Travis Kelce as the Chiefs are wrapping up the 2019 season clinching a playoff berth.
Joel Iyiegbuniwe did not see any special teams action during the Bears 20–13 win over the Lions. Following a gruesome injury to fellow inside linebacker Danny Trevathan, Iggy may start to see some defensive snaps as the Bears will have to adjust to shuffling around who would be a stronger match with Roquan Smith. For now, Nick Kwiatkoski is the option that coaches are going with.
Taywan Taylor also did not see any special teams action on the Browns 19–16 win over the Bills.
Mike White remains on the practice squad for the Jets.
Tyler Higbee was targeted four times in the Rams 17–12 loss to the Steelers. He did have three receptions for 22 yards. With the loss, the team is in jeopardy of falling behind in the already competitive NFC West standings at a 5–4 record.
Elsewhere in the same division, George Fant and the 7–2 Seahawks ended the week with a Monday Night Football showdown against the undefeated 8–0 49ers. Fant received some snaps on the offensive line rotation throughout the game.
Stay tuned for more updates each week. PROOOOOO TOPS!!
