The 2020 NFL season continues to roll on as another week is almost in the books. Week 5 in the NFL for our #ProTops got pretty interesting once Thursday morning arrived. Let’s check up on the latest action, shall we?
First, Joel Iyiegbuniwe and the Bears faced off Tom Brady & the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football. The special teams ace accounted for one solo tackle and 24 snaps in his given assignment. The Bears improved to 4–1 after beating the Bucs 20–19.
Moving on to Sunday, Tyler Higbee’s Rams traveled to Washington D.C. to take on THE Football Team. This was another week that Higs was not able to showcase another game as he did in week 2. He only caught two passes for 12 yards, with only being targeted twice. This was his season-low so far in 2020. The Rams improve to 4–1 after beating the Football Team 30–10.
The Chiefs were engulfed in an AFC West battle with the Raiders. Deon Yelder played some significant minutes in the Chiefs 40–32 loss, which resulted in snapping their winning streak. He played in 13 total snaps on both offense & defense. The Chiefs are now 4–1.
The “Topper Jets” hosted the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. This contest eventually became another blunder for the Jets as they couldn’t pull off a victory. Elsewhere in the locker room, Mike White has been activated to the active roster again, following an injury to Sam Darnold.

Rounding out the week on Monday, Forrest Lamp appeared on prime time for Monday Night Football. His Chargers traveled to New Orleans to take on Drew Brees and the Saints. This also was the first MNF game for rookie quarterback Justin Herbert, who Forrest is protecting in the trenches. The Chargers lost the game in overtime 30–27. Forrest played 76 total snap counts in the prime time loss, remaining as a bright spot in their rebuilding year. The Chargers now have a 1–4 record.
Last but not least, former Hilltopper Romeo Crennel was named interim head coach of the Houston Texans last week after the firing of Bill O’Brien. On Sunday he became the oldest head coach (73) in league history to win an NFL game as the Texans beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 30–14 to win their first game of 2020.
