Week 8 of the NFL slate just wrapped up. Here’s your recap of Hilltoppers in the pros, shall we?
Week 8 of the NFL slate just wrapped up. Here’s your recap of Hilltoppers in the pros, shall we?
Jack Doyle has received his season-high gam total of 61 yards with four catches in the Colts 15–13 win over the visiting Broncos. He was the leader in receptions throughout the game as the passing attack did have some struggles throughout the day. Jacoby Brissett did not have a passing touchdown.
Tyler Higbee was targeted once and it counted for an 8-yard reception as the Rams left London, England victorious over the winless Bengals 24–10. He helped do the little things for the Rams on Sunday.
George Fant continues to be a valued option on the Seahawks offensive line. His current role is a 6th lineman/hybrid tight end. However, this past week in preparation for the Falcons game, he was a limited participant in practice. He played in a limited amount of snaps switching in line shifts for relief of LT Duane Brown. The Hawks picked up the win in Atlanta 27–20.
He was interviewed by the Seahawks media team earlier last week. Here’s the clip in full of our Pro-Topper:
Joel Iyiegbuniwe did not see any action with the Bears in their 17–16 loss to the Chargers.
Taywan Taylor was not in on his usual special teams action as the Browns were routed by the undefeated Patriots 27–13.
Deon Yelder is back on the active roster after being on the practice squad for the Kansas City Chiefs. He did not play during the Sunday night win against the Packers.
Mike White is still on the practice roster for the Jets.
In elsewhere far and between:
In the CFL,
Deandre Farris had one solo tackle in the Ottawa REDBLACKS 39–9 loss to the Toronto Argonauts. Ottawa is eliminated from contention into the 2019 Grey Cup Playoffs. On the bright side, DeAndre has 45 tackles of the year with one interception. Personally, I would LOVE to see him back with the “Rouge et Noir” next season as the 2018 Grey Cup runner ups will look ahead to the 2020 season. The REDBLACKS will close out and hope for a win this week in the season finale against the playoff-bound Montreal Alouettes.
Jonathan Dowling is currently on Injured Reserve for the Toronto Argonauts.
Cam Echols-Luper was not in action this past week as the BC Lions had a bye.
Keep it locked here as the season progresses.
