It has been a fun few days for our #ProTops in week 9. Let’s dive into the latest action from the NFL:
Tyler Higbee and the Rams were on a bye week.
Taywan Taylor and the Browns were also on a bye week.
Joel Iyiegbuniwe and the Bears traveled to Nashville on Sunday afternoon. They were looking to break their two-game losing streak against the Titans. Unfortunately, the Bears were in the defeated column as the Titans won the game, 24–17. Iggy played 29 snap counts on special teams.
The Chiefs were in for an early scare as the Panthers traveled to Arrowhead Stadium, playing for the upset win. The defending Super Bowl champions held off the Panthers as they went on to win 33–31. Deon Yelder played a total of 14 snap counts, both on offense & special teams.
The Colts were throttled at home against the Ravens, 24–10. Lamar Jackson was somewhat back to his old self as the Colts defense struggled to make any progress. Things weren’t going as well as planned on the offensive side of the ball either. Jack Doyle was targeted twice with no receptions. He also left the game with a possible concussion. According to team doctors, he has entered concussion protocol and will not be active in Thursday’s battle against the Titans. We’re wishing a speedy recovery for Capt. Jack.
The Chargers cannot catch a break, to say the least. The Bolts lost another heartbreaker to the Raiders 31–26. This only marked their sixth loss of the year that the team had lost the game under 7 points. Forrest Lamp made the start at offensive guard. He played 79 snaps on offense. He also made 5 special teams appearances.
Last but certainly not least, the “Topper Jets” closed out the week on Monday Night Football. The only winless team in the league played their hated foes & the AFC East’s own, the Patriots. George Fant started Monday’s game on the offensive line. Mike White was active as the backup quarterback behind Joe Flacco. The Jets were in control for most of the game but it was the Patriots who played the spoiler role. The Pats won the game on a last-second field goal, 30–27. The Jets are now 0–8 on the season.
In coaching news:
Romeo Crennel and the Texans tasted victory for the first time in two weeks on Sunday. They defeated their division rivals, The Jaguars 27–25.
Stay tuned for more updates as the season progresses.
