Yesterday was a great day on the Hill as we had two great Hilltopper wins to celebrate. It was also a challenge for our website as we had to stretch the limits of our coverage (5 hours) to make sure that fans were kept in the loop with the coverage and analysis that they expect from the Towel Rack.
We currently have three main writers and a few occasional writers and we are looking to add to our ranks heading into 2021. With Men’s Basketball in hot pursuit of their first NCAA Tournament bid since 2013 and Football recruiting right around the corner, we need some new voices to help take our site to the next level. If you have a passion for WKU Athletics, if you ever wanted to try writing but didn’t know where to start, or if you’ve got some broad ideas that you want to get out there to the general public, then you’re probably the person that we’re looking for.
We are looking for all perspectives possible (students, alumni, general fans). We don’t have any writing commitment requirements for our contributors. You can write as much or as little as you’d like (or are available). Here are some areas on the website that we’d like to broaden heading into 2021:
News Desk- breaking news
Game Recaps
Live tweeting
Recruiting News
Analysis Pieces
Thought Pieces
Game Grades
Film Review
REDout Podcast Appearances
Lady Topper Hoops
Secondary Sports (Baseball, Volleyball, Softball, etc)
Big Red’s Reads (link dump)
Bracketology Roundup
Press Conference Reviews
Any original ideas you may have
The Towel Rack has been providing weekly coverage of the Hilltoppers since 2017 and we look to keep going strong into our 5th year. We pride ourselves on being an objective place for Hilltopper fans to get quality WKU news and analysis. If you are interested in joining our team, please send us a direct message on Twitter or Facebook and we can continue the conversation. Thanks for the continued support over the years, we appreciate everyone’s readership & interaction. Here’s to a strong finish to 2020 and a huge 2021.
