It’s our first in-season mailbag of the year! I’ve wanted to open things up for a couple of weeks now and finally did so. So, sit back, relax and enjoy the answers.
Actually, we had a Twitter user Ryan Butler take this one. Go for it, Ryan.
Honestly, a better answer than I would have given. Bravo.
The latest news on Drew Eckels is…not much. We know he’s unavailable this week and that’s really the extent of it.
As we talked about on Monday, Sanford said that something is off with his throwing shoulder and that he wont be available to play this week.
We had a ton of questions about the health of D’Andre Ferby — actually, probably more questions were asked about that than anything else — and I hadn’t even heard that anything was wrong.
However, when they were reporting the news that Marquez Trigg was leaving the program, the WKU Herald also reported that, according to running back Joshua Samuel, Ferby had undergone surgery following the Louisville game, but nothing further was offered.
That’s an interesting way for news to come out and I’m sure the WKU football camp isn’t happy that one of their own players is talking about this rather than Sanford or it coming via a press release. So, we’ll have to see what further comes out this week (if anything).
Hey coach! Didn’t think I’d see you pop up in here. Great game on Saturday, hope to see more of it today.
Back to the question at hand — you’re safe until the end of next season, at the very least. If things turn around and a bowl is achieved and if the youngsters begin to pan out the way we all think/hope they will, I think the questions around your security will disappear and we’ll begin wondering what it’ll take to start winning the division again.
But, if you’ve been thinking about looking for living arrangements elsewhere, don’t. You’re going to be in Bowling Green, at shortest, through next season.
