Welcome to the latest edition of The Towel Rack mailbag! In the hot, muggy doldrums of summer, we need something to help get us to late August, and your questions are exactly the medicine we crave.
Lets get to it.
The short answer here is: no. I don’t see a realistic way in which the Tops are preseason Top 25. However, if they have a great non-conference run, they could find themselves in the Top 25 as we open conference play, especially with wins against Wisconsin and St. Mary’s under their belt.
However, I fancy myself a bit of a pessimist (although I like to think of it as being a realist) and think the Tops being in the top 25 this year is a pipe dream, but I’ll be more than happy to be proven wrong.

Anyway, if the WKU spring roster is to be believed, the answer is no (as in, he isn’t on the roster). Which, I don’t need to tell any of you, is a real shame. He was great to watch and it sucked that his final time on the field was that brutal hit.
As for his comeback, there hasn’t been any news on him since August of 2017. Again, a real bloody shame.
I believe he his. The WKU basketball twitter account posted some photos from the team’s pickup game at the camp from Monday, and I’m pretty sure I saw him in there…but I cannot say with 100% certainty. And for that, I apologize.

Anyway, I was speaking with…I’ll call them a source…about this very issue, and they said that Ohmer is 100% coming back next season.
I know, I know, I’m just as shocked as you are — however, there is room for him on the 2018/19 squad. I think the decision time will come the following season when Carson Williams is eligible.
Now, if my source is incorrect, I honestly wont be shocked, but I’m expecting to see him on the court this year.
