5:50 p.m. ET: I apologize for the lack of updates again today, everyone — another busy day and, quite honestly, not a ton happening in the Hilltopper world.

BUT, you’ll never guess who cracked Andy Katz’ 15 freshman who can make an immediate impact list.

I know, I know. I’ll give you a moment to process.

Katz says about Bassey and the Tops; “…If the Hilltoppers can reach the NCAA tournament, they can match up with any opponent at a position where schools tend to be overmatched.”

Sounds good to me.

9 a.m. ET: A space usually reserved for the likes of UTEP and Charlotte, the Hilltoppers have found their way into unwanted territory — the Bottom 25.

They come in at #18, sandwiched between Nebraska and Northern Illinois.

Also, why is Nebraska there? They looked really good and played in maybe the most exciting game of this past weekend?

By my count, there are four CUSA teams in this week’s Bottom 25 — Rice (23), WKU, ODU (5), UTSA (3) and UTEP (2).

Purdue is also there, for those who enjoy a bit of schadenfreude.
