Happy Thursday, all! We are on the cusp of the NFL kicking off (more on that later this afternoon) and are two days away from the Toppers taking on Maine.
10:45 p.m. ET: The non-conference schedule for the Lady Toppers’ soccer program came to an end tonight with a 2–0 defeat at the hands of Vaderbilt.
This has…not been a good non-con for the Lady Tops. They enter C-USA play with a 2–3–2 record, with wins coming against Evansville and Kentucky christian, and draws against Miami (OH), Lipscomb.
The CUSA slate starts next Sunday, the 16, with Southern Miss in Hattiesburg.
9:15 p.m. ET: With week one of the football schedule in the books (technically week two? Whatever), we have game grades from Pro Football Focus to look over!
And, a surprising Hilltopper from a surprising position group had a nice week one.
Not bad, Mr. Joset!
1:15 p.m. ET: ESPN has released their ratings numbers from the Tops’ opening game in Madison.
And it had the most eyes of any game!
I think it’s safe to assume the time slot had something to do with that, but if you want to, I won’t stop you from thinking that many people couldn’t wait to see WKU.
9 a.m. ET: Yesterday, we talked about how the only real noticeable change (if you even want to call it that) to the Hilltoppers’ basketball uniforms was the lack of a 100 year anniversary patch, like what their football counterparts wear.
But, there’s been another change that we didn’t account for.
WELCOME TO THE ERA OF BAVEION HO11INGSWORTH, FOLKS
As for what led to the change, who knows for sure, but the safest answer (and the point brought up by our own Jared Rosdeutscher) is that Desean Murray, who wore #13 at Auburn, wanted it, so they came to some sort of agreement to let him keep it.
But, the double-1’s look good on him.
