Former Western Kentucky and Bowling Green High School outfielder Luke Brown has been drafted on the third day of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Brown was taken in the ninth round with the 253rd overall pick.
The BG native played just one year on the Hill, hitting .369/.403/.405 with 14 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
Brown garnered a spot on the 2018 Conference USA All-Freshman Team for his efforts.
He left the Hill for JUCO John A. Logan College before ending his career with UofL over the last two years.
This last season, he slashed .320/.362/.422 with 20 RBI and 17 stolen bases.
This is the second time Brown has been selected in the MLB Draft: He was taken by the Yankees in the 25th round of the 2019 draft.
