On Monday, the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam announced their bracket and, in doing so, announced the Hilltoppers’ first opponent in the eight-team field as the Bowling Green Falcons.
The tournament runs from November 22–25.
The winner between the Tops and Falcons will take on the winner between Illinois State and Cincinnati (with the loser of each game facing one another as well).
Valpraiso/Grand Canyon and Fordham/Nevada are the other two first-round games.
The full bracket can be seen below.
The tournament is “single-elimination,” however, each team is slated for three games.
So, say the Tops lose to BG to open; they’d move to take on the loser of ISU/Cincy and then, depending on that result, would play one more game for either 4th/5th or 7th/8th place.
The Tops’ game is slated for 7 p.m. CT
WKU holds a 23–10 all-time record against BGSU and are 6–0 in neutral site games against the Falcons. The Tops last met the Birds back in 2014 in a 62–52 WKU victory that saw double-digit scoring performances from George Fant, TJ Price and Ben Lawson.
A sponsor of this year’s tournament is FloHoops, which leads me to believe Flo will be the exclusive streaming sponsor of this year’s tournament. To join right now, it’s $12.50 a month, which while not great, is cheaper than the $25 or whatever it was a few years ago to watch the Tops play football on there.
