After dropping three straight, the Hilltoppers have turned things around a bit and have won four consecutive contests and are getting better with each outing, with Saturday’s five-point win over Eastern Kentucky a great example of that.
Dayvion McKnight and Camron Justice are proving to be reliable 15-point plus producers night in and night out and Jamarion Sharp is improving each game, especially since his inclusion in the starting lineup since the start of the homestand.
Buffalo, on the other hand, has had a hard time finding their footing this year: They enter with a 4-3 overall record and have played well in their losses (12-point loss to Michigan, one-point loss to Stephen F. Austin and three-point loss to St. Bonaventure) but don’t have a truly quality win on their resume on this young season (the closes thing you might say is a three-point win over North Texas in the season’s second contest).
The Bulls enter Wednesday with four double-digit scorers, led by the duo of Jeenathan Williams (19.4 points, 4.7 rebounds) and Ronaldo Segu (15.1 points, 5.1 assists).
Just as the Colonels were arguably the best true measure of where WKU is this year, Buffalo will prove to be that, too.
WKU will be shorthanded Josh Anderson once again (COVID-19) and the status of Jarius Hamilton for this one is not yet known (he missed Saturday’s game with a reported back injury).
