On Tuesday, Justin Johnson and Tashia Brown were named to the All-Conference USA Preseason Teams.
Johnson is the first (and will most likely be the only) Topper to be named to the CUSA All-Conference Team after averaging 14.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game last year, when he finished the year as a member of the CUSA’s All-Conference Second Team.
The Hazard native logged 302 rebounds in total last season and is 302 rebounds shy from becoming a member of the 1,000 rebound club at WKU.
Brown is the second Lady Topper to garner the preseason honor, along with Ivy Brown, and enters this year looking to improve upon an All-Conference season, averaging 13.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
In just three seasons, Brown has notched 1,331 career points, which puts her at 21st in program history.
There is one more member of each squad to announce before the conference unveils their preseason Player of the Year, and I’d bet good money either Ivy or Tashia are the recipient of that.
