WKU Basketball: Josh Anderson Cleared to Play By NCAA
The wait has been long and…well, long, but today news broke that the NCAA has cleared Josh Anderson to be able to play with the Tops.
The wait has been long and…well, long, but today news broke that the NCAA has cleared Josh Anderson to be able to play with the Tops.
This is news WKU fans have been waiting for since before the season even began, and will put the Tops at (almost) full strength on the floor along with putting even more talent at Rick Stansbury’s disposal.
Once he takes the floor, Anderson will instantly become the highest-rated prospect to play for the Tops in the modern era, after coming to the Tops as a four-star recruit and a Top 50 player out of high school.
While we’re happy to see that Anderson is cleared, there is still no word about forward Moustapha Diagne. Diagne has been waiting to be cleared for a while. He enrolled at WKU in 2016 as a student and started participating with the team at the beginning of this season but as of now he is still awaiting a ruling on his eligibility to play.
WKU Basketball: The Tops Need Josh Anderson and Moustapha Diagne
Let’s keep it real: WKU men’s basketball has the Hilltopper fan base buzzing for the Tops. This team looks special in…medium.com
While this is good news for the Tops moving forward, I personally have a bit tempered expectations. It’s going to take a bit of time for Anderson to get into game form here at the beginning of conference play but will provide the team with some much needed depth that has probably cost them a few games earlier this season. With WKU taking on Marshall this Saturday, we may get a look of what this team looks like at its fullest.
