WKU Basketball: Lipscomb Guard Cooper Signs With Tops — Report
Lipscomb transfer Kenny Cooper has signed with the Hilltoppers, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
Lipscomb transfer Kenny Cooper has signed with the Hilltoppers, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
Cooper announced his transfer on April 15 in the wake of Bison head coach Casey Alexander leaving for the same position at Belmont. It’s believed he’ll be eligible for the Tops’ immediately.
The Nashville native started 66 games across three seasons for the Bison and would have been LU’s leading returning scorer for the 2019/20 season after posting 9.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists last year.
Cooper’s signing will help fill the hole left behind with Dalano Banton’s departure and very well could start a true battle at the point guard position with several other transfers garnering interest from the Hilltoppers.
This also could be the start of something of a log jam for the Toppers roster, which’ll most likely mean there’ll be several players that’ll be forced to transfer to make room.
Anyway, it’s another new comer to the Hill and one with experience running the point. A lot to like here.
