The 2019–20 WKU basketball season promises to be the most anticipated season in recent memory. The Tops return an experienced core of several impact players and to go along a deep group of transfers to bolster the roster. With all of that coming together, the Tops are getting a lot of preseason love in terms of being included in several bracket projections.
With the collective talent and a schedule that includes Louisville, Arkansas, Cincinnati (potentially), Rhode Island and Belmont the team could easily warrant at-large consideration even if they sustain a few losses (6–8 range) on the season.

As you can tell, WKU all the projections that have been released thus far have the Hilltoppers slated into the tournament. Most of the “experts” think the Hilltoppers will be a 12 or 13 seed. That is probably in CUSA Auto-bid territory and not at-large consideration. Being a 12 or 13 seed a great spot to pull off an upset but I think this team has the potential to climb as high as a 7 seed if everything breaks correctly.
We’ll continue to update you on the Tops bracket projections as the season progresses and will move to a weekly projection after the first of the year. As more publications start tracking the bracket we’ll update our list as more come on board in the coming weeks/months. We’re all holding our breath hoping that WKU will return to the tournament for the first time since 2013, let’s hope this is the year that everything finally comes together.
