WKU Basketball: Sharp Records Triple Double as Tops Take Down Alabama A&M, 88-62
Jamarion Sharp starred in a spot-start for the injured Jaylen Butz as the Hilltoppers logged their second win of the season against the Bulldogs.
After some tough games and three straight losses, WKU was able to get back in the win column against Alabama A&M and win 88-62.
Sherman Brashear led all Hilltoppers in scoring with 18 points on 4-of-8 shooting from deep as Jairus Hamilton added 15 points. Luke Frampton finally looked better shooting the ball and scored 12 points on 3-of-6 shooting from three.
This game also gave us our first look of Isaiah Cozart this season and he played well, logging nine points and five rebounds as the second option at the 5.
Perhaps the biggest shock was center Jamarion Sharp recording the third triple-double in WKU history by getting 10 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 blocks. He’s the first Hilltopper to ever record a triple double with blocks and broke the school record with most blocks in a single game.
The first half went well after the first three minutes as the Tops went on a 9-0 run after struggling a little bit but kept adding on the points. WKU would lead 47-25 at halftime.
In the second half, Alabama A&M kept fighting and didn’t want to go away and narrowed the gap to 14 points but the Tops continued to shoot well and were able to seal the deal and get their second win of the season.
