After their opening-round victory in The Basketball Tournament, the Eberlein Drive defeated the Stillwater Stars, 119–67, in second-round action on Sunday evening.
Kicking things off again in the Wichita Region, the Drive did not waste any time to open the game. After an opening 5–2 lead in the first period over the Stars, the Drive kicked things into high gear. Jeremy Evans contributed his offensive rebounding skills, which over time helped to create a 39–14 lead at the end of the first period.
The Drive kept the momentum going as their biggest lead of the half was 27 points by the end of the second quarter. AJ Slaughter had 10 points and Jeremy Evans led all players on the team with four total rebounds at the halftime break.
Going into the second half, things did not go well for the Stars as the Drive kept pushing the foot on the gas pedal. The biggest lead of the game was extended to 45 points by the end of the third quarter. The Drive continued the lead 98–45, approaching the Elam Ending section by the game’s end.
Trevin Queen hit the game-winner at 119 points ending the game for Eberlein Drive, defeating the Stillwater Stars.
Slaughter finished the game with 19 points. Evans also put up 10 points with five rebounds.
Eberlein Drive will play the fifth seed Florida TNT on Tuesday at 7 pm EST. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN3.
