WKU Basketball: Steve Lutz Announced as Next Head Coach
We know who the next head coach for WKU will be
While there was much speculation as to who the next would be after Rick Stansbury announced his retiring, we now know that Texas A&M Corpus Christi head coach Steve Lutz will be the new head coach.
Lutz just recently took his squad to the NCAA Tournament as a #16 seed as they failed to win their play in game but he is 47-23 as head coach at A&M CC and took them to the Big Dance both of his seasons there. He is a former assistant at Purdue and Creighton and helped recruit star center Zach Edey to the Boilermakers. We don’t have full details of the contract but it will be for at least four years.
Out of all of the candidates we’ve heard, Lutz was one we heard from almost the beginning and it looks like he will start a new chapter here on the Hill. Welcome to Bowling Green coach Lutz!
