WKU (11–5) was firing on all cylinders Saturday night as they rolled past Marshall (11–5) on the road in their highest scoring game away from Diddle Arena since Arkansas State in 2001 in a 112–87 victory.
Justin Johnson and Darius Thompson both finished with a career high in points; Johnson finished with 27 points and eight rebounds while Thompson finished with a remarkable 33 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists making him the first Hilltopper since Orlando Mendez-Valdez to record a triple-double.
Dwight Coleby also finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds for the night.
Most notably, Josh Anderson took to the court for his first career game since being cleared Friday and scored 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting and had four rebounds and some spectacular dunks on top of that. He looked every bit of a four-star recruit and played almost 20 minutes for the night.
While the Tops seemed to hit everything they made, finishing the night shooting 62% from the floor, Marshall struggled early on and it took them almost five minutes into the game until they made their first bucket.
Herd star forward Ajdin Penava left the game early with an apparent leg injury and was wearing a boot on the bench later the second half. The Herd still shot 18-of-37 from downtown but gave up 70 points in the paint which is what made WKU keep their momentum rolling.

Seeing a game like this from WKU on the road against one of the better teams of the conference is definitely a good sign of what this team might be. Adding Josh Anderson has already started to pay off for the Tops and as he and the rest of the true freshmen continue to develop during league play, the ceiling is the roof for this team.
Here are the final stats from the night
