It’s round two of the 100 Miles of Hate, where MTSU will look to prove they are one of the nation’s top teams and WKU will look to prove that the last meeting, in which the Tops shot just 43.9% from the floor and 11.1% from three, was something of a fluke and that they are better than four points worse than MT.
Long story short, it’s going to get nuts.

As far as I’m concerned, this matchup begins and ends with stopping Nick King, who dropped 28 points in Bowling Green.
Okay, that might be simplifying things just a bit, but King must be stopped. The Tops did a great job keeping the rest of the Blue Raiders at bay, even holding Giddy Potts to just 16, but King went off at every given opportunity.
The Tops also need to…to put it bluntly, not be awful until it counts. The box score says this was a competitive game, but those of us who remember it remember a very different story.
I’m really not sure what else to say here. It’s the Tops vs. Raiders. It’s a team continuing to fight for relevancy in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year going to a Top 25 opponent and looking to break some hearts.
Personally, I’m hoping for the basketball version of the first WKU/Marshall conference football matchup, but we’ll see.
