The Tops defeated Laurentian University last night, even after trailing for a majority of the contest, and are right back at it tonight for their second game of their Costa Rica trip, this time facing off against the Costa Rican National Team.
According to WKU’s hand-kept stats, Lamonte Bearden led the way with 23 points on 11–23 shooting from the field. Four other Toppers finished with double figures, including a double-double from Justin Johnson fresh off the WKU football roster (19 points, 10 rebounds — the only double-figure rebounder for the Tops).
For the Tops to improve upon last night tonight — something multiple players harped on following the game — they’ll have to do the following:
Shoot better than 51% from the floor
Shoot better than 25% from three
More than one double-digit rebounder
Share the wealth (13 total team rebounds last night)
I doubt Stansbury will go with the same starting line up from last night (Bearden, Thompson, Coleby, Johnson, Brangers) so let’s predict a starting five of
G — Hollingsworth
G — Thompson
G — Savage
F — Johnson
F — Coleby
