Boston College turned in a major about-face this year, after winning just two ACC games and nine games overall a season ago, the Eagles went 19–15 on the regular season, and went 7–11 in conference play.
The Eagles have victories over Duke, FSU, Miami, Syracuse and NC State in their conference season.
They’re led offensively by Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman, who average 20.8 and 17.6 points per game, respectively. In all, the Eagles boast four double figure scores, with Jordan Chatman (13.1) and Deontae Hawkins (12.4) joining Robinson and Bowman.
Hawkins also leads the team in rebounds, logging 9.1 boards a game.
On paper, this game has all the makings of a shootout — the Eagles score 76.8 points a game and allow close to 75 points a game. On the flip side, WKU scores 78.4 points a night and allow just 70.1.
The question on everyone’s mind is “which Topper team will show up tonight,” which is a fair question. We saw the other Topper team to close the regular season, but we saw the good WKU squad in the first two tournament games. Unfortunately, we saw both teams on Saturday, which led to the eventual defeat to Marshall.
I can’t tell you why, but I think we get the good team tonight. I don’t think JJ, Dwight or Darius want the year to end, and I think the hot streak to end the Marshall game will carry over into tonight. Also, I think Diddle will be lit.
Let’s go Tops. Survive and advance is, one again, the name of the game.
