The Hilltoppers are looking to put an end to their first losing streak of the season and are looking to just get back on the floor for the first time in a week, since they lost in an uninspired performance to Indiana State as the Tennessee State Tigers come to town.

Tonight will be the first time the Hilltoppers take the floor since it was announced that Taveion Hollingsworth will take point guard duties from Josh Anderson, moving Anderson into his more natural two-guard position.
Hopefully this’ll do a couple of things — first, make the offense run smoother, which has felt more like a car sputtering down the road as opposed to running like a fine-oiled machine. Second, it’ll (hopefully) put one of the Hilltoppers’ most athletic players back in his element to be able to make plays instead of trying to force plays to happen.
Tennessee State rolls in with a 2–4 record and neither of their victories have come against NCAA competition (a 92–57 win against Carver Bible and a 113–61 drubbing over Fisk).
Having said that, the Tigers have been competitive in their two most recent losses; a three-point defeat to Cal State Northridge and a 12-point loss to Kentucky.
TSU is led by three double-figure scorers, a trio of junior guards, in Donte Fitzpatrick-Dorsey (15.6 points per game), Kamar McKnight (13.3 points) and Tripp Davis (10.3 points).
If there’s one area the Tops have a clear advantage is on the glass — only one Tiger is averaging more than five boards a game, senior forward Stokley Chaffee (6.8 rpg) and three of their top five rebounders are the aforementioned trio of guards. It should be a fun matchup for not just Charles Bassey, but DeSean Murray and even perhaps Taveion (who is currently the second-leading rebounder for the Hilltoppers).
This has the potential to be a special night for a couple of reasons. First, WKU will be honoring their All-Century team as the program continues to celebrate it’s 100th year in existence. Secondly, a victory will mean win #600 in Diddle Arena. That’s a lot of W’s.
