WKU Basketball: Tops Season Ends to FAU, 75-51
Tops will leave Frisco in the second round
After defeating UTEP in the first round, WKU will pack their bags early and leave Frisco after getting beat by #1 seed FAU Owls, 75-51.
McKnight led the Tops in scoring with 18 points as WKU shot only 27% from the floor as a team.
WKU was able to hang with the Owls for most of the first half and only trailed at halftime by ten points but FAU outscored WKU 45-31 in the second half and led by as much as 32 points at one point.
WKU will finish the 2022-2023 season 17-16 overall and with an 8-12 conference record. I don’t think any of us would have predicted this type of ending to the season at the beginning of the year seeing so many new, strong additions to the team in the off-season but we will now wait and see what direction the program will go now that the season is over.
Be sure to follow us and stay up to date with any major developments during the off-season.
