The wait is almost over. Come Friday, the Tops will be taking the court against a team in a game which’ll have stats, scores and, most importantly, an outcome that matters the most.
But, at least tonight, the only thing that matters is making sure everything is good to go for Friday.
The Tops play their final exhibition of the season this evening against Cumberland University. Your game info:
Time: 7 p.m. CT
Location: Diddle Arena | Bowling Green, Ky.
TV: HSSN (WKU PBS in Bowling Green, WBNA in Louisville); online stream via CUSA.tv ($)
Radio: The Hilltopper IMG Sports Network
Last week against Campbellsville, the Tops boasted only seven players, the same number that suited up against Samford to open the preseason slate, but still cruised to a 92–51 rout over the Tigers.

Monday means pressers on the Hill, and today’s presser came with some news involving the Tops’ backfield:medium.com
If the Tops can get an eighth guy in Lamonte Bearden dressed and playing meaningful minutes, it’ll go a long way in getting prepared for what’ll come Friday. (Also, if the NCAA wants to go ahead and rule on Josh Anderson or Moustapha Diagne, that’d be swell as well.)
In the first two preseason games, it’s been the Taveion Hollingsworth show, having logged performances of 19 and 20 points in the first two games, he led all scores last week and shot 9-of-14 from the floor in a team-high 35 minutes.
Jake Ohmer also continues to ride a hot hand, as he recorded 18 against the Tigers and hit all three of the Tops’ three-point shots, something that’ll need to change (and quickly — perhaps this evening!) if they want to see success in meaningful games.

With a depleted roster yet again, I expect the lineup to look the same tonight as it did last week: Hollingsworth, Nelson, Thompson, Coleby and Johnson.
