With Saturday’s loss to FAU, WKU is still one win away from being eligible for the seventh season in a row. Their record now stands at 5–3 on the season with four games to play. Here are your Conference USA standings through nine weeks:
Reminder, Conference USA has six primary bowl tie-ins and one secondary tie-in. Thus far UTEP and Charlotte have been eliminated from bowl contention while Rice and ODU are one game away MTSU is trending out of the postseason race. With that in mind, here’s the latest bowl projections across the internet post-Week 9.

WKU now has four games to get that elusive sixth win again four tough opponents (Vanderbilt, Marshall, MTSU & FIU). While six wins should get them bowling, the destinations probably won’t be as desirable as first thought especially with both FIU/FAU’s both close to bowl eligibility and possibly a better sell for Florida bowl games.
As of right now, I’m pulling for a New Orleans Bowl bid and am praying they don’t get shipped to the Bahamas. The next three weeks loom large on WKU’s bowl destination. We’ll continue to update you weekly on the projections and as more outlets (Athlon, The All-American, etc.) release their projections following Week 9.
