Reminder, Conference USA has six primary bowl tie-ins and one secondary tie-in. Thus far only UTEP, Charlotte (WKU’s next two opponents) and Rice look like they’re probably out of the postseason race. With that in mind, here’s the latest bowl projections across the internet post-Week 5.

Boca Raton Bowl vs. Tulsa
or
No Bowl
CBS Sports
Gasparilla Bowl vs. SMU
SB Nation
Boca Raton Bowl vs. UCF

Boca Raton Bowl vs. Tulane

Bahamas Bowl vs. Toledo
Sports Illustrated
No Bowl

New Orleans Bowl vs. Appalachian State
Let’s take all of these (especially Sports Illustrated) with a heavy grain of salt. I still believe that WKU will push heavily for the Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa but their slow start might push them towards a less desirable location (New Orleans would be a lot of fun). We’ll try to update you weekly on the projections and as more outlets (USA Today, Orlando, etc.) release their projections following Week 5.
What do you think about WKU’s projected destinations? Is the media completely off base with their predictions? Where do you want to see the Tops go? Let us know in a comment below, via Twitter at @TheTowelRackWKU or on our Facebook page.
