WKU Football shut down Old Dominion defensively and moved to 3–2 on the season. Now Hilltopper fans can now realistically start dreaming of a bowl trip for the first time since 2017. According to ESPN’s Bill Connelly, WKU now has a 79% chance of reaching the six wins required for bowl eligibility. Here are your Conference USA standings through six weeks:
Reminder, Conference USA has eight primary bowl tie-ins and two secondary tie-ins. Thus far only Rice, UTEP & ODU look like they’re probably out of the postseason race. With that in mind, here are the latest bowl projections across the internet post-Week 6.

As you can tell, most publications aren’t yet on board with WKU making a bowl. I’d say that’s a combination of WKU’s early-season loss to Central Arkansas and a generally slower reaction to G5 projections. That will change should they upset Army on Saturday. If that happens, I’d be shocked if every one of these didn’t include WKU next week.
We’ll continue to update you weekly on the projections and as more outlets (The Athletic, etc.) release their projections following Week 7.
What do you think about WKU’s projected destinations? Is the media completely off base with their predictions? Where do you want to see the Tops go? Let us know in a comment below, via Twitter at @TheTowelRackWKU or on our Facebook page.
