WKU survived a very mediocre performance to beat winless UTEP on Saturday to move to 3–2 on the season with seven games to play. Here are your Conference USA standings through six weeks:
Reminder, Conference USA has six primary bowl tie-ins and one secondary tie-in. Thus far only UTEP, Charlotte (Saturday’s opponent) and Rice look like they’re probably out of the postseason race. With that in mind, here’s the latest bowl projections across the internet post-Week 6.

You can tell Saturday’s poor performance had a major impact in these projections, with three services listing no bowl. Let’s take all of these with a heavy grain of salt. I still believe that WKU will push heavily for the Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa but their slow start might push them towards a less desirable location (New Orleans would be a lot of fun). We’ll continue to update you weekly on the projections and as more outlets (Athlon, etc.) release their projections following Week 6.
