After another thrilling win over ODU, WKU is just one win away from being eligible for the seventh season in a row. Their record now stands at 5–2 on the season with five games to play. Here are your Conference USA standings through eight weeks:
Reminder, Conference USA has six primary bowl tie-ins and one secondary tie-in. Thus far UTEP and Charlotte have been eliminated from bowl contention while Rice is one game away and ODU and MTSU are trending out of the postseason race. With that in mind, here’s the latest bowl projections across the internet post-Week 8.

Since last week there has been some continuity with the Bahamas Bowl and the Armed Forces Bowl leading the way. Let’s take all of these with a heavy grain of salt. I still believe that WKU will push heavily for the Gasparilla Bowl in St. Petersburg but FIU/FAU’s proximity may push them towards a less desirable location (New Orleans would still be a lot of fun). The next three weeks loom large on WKU’s bowl destination. We’ll continue to update you weekly on the projections and as more outlets (The All-American, etc.) release their projections following Week 8.
What do you think about WKU’s projected destinations? Is the media completely off base with their predictions? Where do you want to see the Tops go? Let us know in a comment below, via Twitter at @TheTowelRackWKU or on our Facebook page.
